Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Super Seasoned Oak is a highly limited, one-time bourbon release that redefines the relationship between whiskey and wood. For this 100.4-proof expression, Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall utilized 9-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon matured in barrels built with exceptionally weathered oak. While standard staves age for months, the barrel staves for this release were seasoned outdoors for five full years, and the barrel heads for seven. This extended air-drying completely strips away harsh tannins, extracting dense wood sugars, rich baking spices, and a unique nuttiness.
