The Singleton 40 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, made at the Glen Ord distillery, was aged in ex-bourbon barrels for 12 years before being moved into Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks for an unusually long second maturation of 28 years. But they weren’t done yet, giving the whisky a final finish in (Diageo-owned) Ron Zacapa XO rum casks.
