Vinous, Antonio Galloni 94 Points - The 2013 Chardonnay Vanguard is absolutely gorgeous. Candied lemon peel, butter, pastry, mint and spice open up first, followed by a slight tropical note that adds nuance, texture and oiliness. The 90% new French oak needs a bit more time to integrate, so readers should plan on giving the 2013 another 6-12 months in bottle, perhaps more. Vineyard sources are 56% Sanford & Benedict and 44% Solomon Hills.
