Fernet Francisco is a small-batch amaro produced by Max Rudsten and Ben Flajnik, who both grew up drinking Fernet-Branca, the industry standard from Italy. This fernet has a cleaner finish than the traditional Branca while remaining brightly herb-y and pleasantly bitter. It delivers the full-flavored punch you expect while making it easier to create a more nuanced cocktail.
The fernet is made by vapor-infusing a group of botanicals similar to what’s used in gin, and then blending it back with various herbal infusions. But the key ingredient is a red stalk with green leaves.
